Welcome to the Network of Afghan Diaspora Organisations in Europe (NADOE), where our commitment lies in fostering a vibrant and empowered diaspora community across the European landscape, with a particular focus on Belgium. At NADOE, we believe in creating positive change by addressing the unique challenges faced by Afghanistan diaspora communities. Our organisation is driven by a dual mission that encapsulates community development in Brussels and serving as a central hub for diaspora and civil society organisations with ties to Afghanistan across Europe.
Our Mission:
Community Empowerment in Brussels: As a community-based and refugee-led organisation in Brussels, NADOE is dedicated to enhancing the overall development and growth of refugee communities, particularly the communities with a background from Afghanistan. We strive to improve economic, social, and environmental conditions, contributing a valuable perspective to policymaking, and fostering meaningful migrant participation in all facets of society.
European Hub for Diaspora and Civil Society: NADOE functions as a Brussels-based hub connecting diaspora and civil society organisations of Afghanistan origin, facilitating socio-economic cooperation and engagement with European Institutions. We aim to bridge gaps, creating opportunities for collaboration and supporting initiatives that align with our commitment to development, humanitarian aid, and democracy in Afghanistan.
Key Initiatives:
- Cooperation at the European Level: NADOE initiates projects that bring together local social organisations of the Afghanistan diaspora from different EU Member States. Through collaboration, we strive to foster unity and cooperation at the European level.
- Preservation of Language and Culture: Serving as a hub, NADOE facilitates the exchange of experiences among diaspora organisations, preserving the rich language and culture of their origin for future generations.
- Guidance for Officials and Private Organisations: NADOE is committed to providing assistance, training, seminars and guidance to officials and private organisations regarding projects and inquiries related to Afghanistan and the Afghanistan diaspora in Europe.
- Support for Sustainable Development: We actively support migrants and diaspora communities in their pursuit of sustainable development, integration, and the preservation of their unique cultural identity.
- Combatting Discrimination: Collaborating with other diaspora organisations, NADOE works to gather experiences related to discrimination against migrants, across Europe. We aim to build resilience within local organisations and advocate against discrimination.
